The challenge:
From the very start, several development teams within the company were simultaneously working on projects for international clients. Compiling documentation was taking a great deal of time as concepts and terms had to be coordinated between these various teams. Texts were written in either German or English, with numerous synonyms and deprecated terms included.
The solution:
KREISEL ELECTRIC put together a body of texts from which GORNIK was able to extract candidate terms. Over the course of a full-day workshop, this was used to produce a terminology system. The participants were then able to differentiate concepts across departments and clearly denote synonyms and deprecated terms.
The results:
Those responsible for terminology maintenance learned how to define terms and relevant meanings efficiently and standardise terminology in all documents by themselves.
